The FX2 are designed to be faster and retrieve line quicker while still delivering all the things Van Staal Reels are known for. Fully sealed, durable and a surf angler’s best tool. The FX2 is a great choice for anglers who are inlet fishing, throwing topwater, fishing jigs, swimming bucktails or need a big water reel. Stick with the regular X2 for eeling at montaukand working darters with the lower gear ratio.Just like the X2, the FX2 features a new unibody design with a longer foot that gives more clearance for anglers with bigger knuckles. Van Staal repositioned the instant anti-reverse eliminating any back movement in the spool. Included with the FX2 are the popular PowerGrip handle knob and drag knob. These are now standard on the reel so you don’t have to upgrade.
Van Staal VS FX2 Bailless Spinning Reel are available in 50, 150, 200, and 250 sizes. The 100 features a 100 body with a larger 150 rotor to get 38″ per crank. The 200 has a 300 body with a 200 size rotor delivering 42″ per crank. The 250 has a 300 body with a 250 rotor delivering 44″ per crank of the handle. All models have the handle on the left side of the reel.
