They feature a VBS breaking system to help with casts and a powerful Cross Carbon drag that puts out up to 22 lbs of drag! The 300 comes in two different gear ratios. Use the 4.7:1 when you are fishing deep cranks or Alabama rigs. The 6.6:1 version is perfect for all your big topwater presentations, including those monster swimbaits you like to swim when on the hunt for double digit largemouth bass! TheShimano Curado 300 K Low Profile Baitcasting Reel is the big brother of the Curado K and will deliver the same quality and performance. If you are fishing freshwater and want a great reel then buy one. Let’s not write off all the saltwater anglers. This reel is perfectly capable in saltwater targeting big inshore and nearshore species. It doesn’t have the seals of a Tranx but it will hold up well if you keep it clean.
